Registration and Call for Papers now open!

We are pleased to provide further details of the 7th Military Orders Conference.

As previously announced, the conference will take place 7-10 September 2017, at St John’s Gate, London EC1M 4DA. The theme is Piety, Pugnacity and Property.

Proposals for 20 minute papers concerning any aspect of the history of the military orders are invited. The title and a synopsis of up to 250 words, in English, should be submitted through Eventbrite, along with conference registration, at: http://the-military-orders-conference-2017.eventbrite.co.uk.

Please register your details on Eventbrite by 31st January, 2017. The conference standard fee is £100 or, for students, £55 payable through the Eventbrite site. It is necessary to register in order to submit a proposal but, should any proposal be deemed unsuitable, a refund will be available if you no longer wish to attend. Please note that you do not need to give a paper to attend. A selection of the conference proceedings will be published, see the publishing guidelines for details.

Conference participants will be responsible for finding their own accommodation but a list of suggestions and contact details, including Rosebery Hall (LSE), will be posted on this site soon.

Information about bursaries will also be added shortly. If you would like to help the conference be more accessible for young scholars, and could contribute any funds to the LCSC, please contact Michael Heslop. Any contribution would be very much appreciated.

If you have any questions, please contact the Conference Administrator, Pamela Willis.
